Admission procedure
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Theatre Production and Stage Technology is open to applicants who have an overview of and interest in culture and who are familiar with public administration and cultural financing. They are able to think logically and systemically, and have good formulation, presentation and communication skills. They are independent, proactive and creative and are not afraid to solve problems creatively. They have a desire to organise, collaborate and be part of a wider team. They are interested in the environment, actively seek information (proficient in information technology) and are able to respond flexibly to changing conditions. They have a minimum of high school level English, are not afraid of other languages and budget management. And of course, they love the theatre!
The admission procedure to the Theatre Faculty of JAMU is usually two-round. In exceptional cases, the Dean of the Faculty may decide to hold a third round of the admission procedure.
The recruitment process is used to test talent and skills for future employment as a producer.

- Written
- English language proficiency test: at least B1 level in the written test
- verification of project thinking skills: written work in a stressful environment based on the assignment (we assess argumentation skills and work with information, this part of the exam must be done on your own laptop according to the specific assignment)
- Interview with the committee, which verifies
- Motivation and aptitude for study (including discussion of any completed projects and work experience, discussion may be supported by relevant project documentation or project portfolio)
- ability to communicate and express oneself promptly
- knowledge of basic information about theatre operations, economics, sociology, psychology, cultural institutions and the cultural, theatrical and social system of the Czech Republic
The 1st round of entrance examinations for the Theatre Production specialisation takes place during March-April
The 2nd round of entrance exams for the Theatre Production specialisation will take place in May
- strong talent requirements for the chosen field
- a full secondary education or a full vocational secondary education with a secondary school leaving certificate
- intellectual aptitude (ability to make independent judgements, good level of general knowledge, strong interest in the chosen field of study)
- good health and physical disposition
- English at least at B2 level
- health and physical disposition for demanding work
