The Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Production develops the personality of a student who, after graduation, is oriented in the history and present of theatre and artistic creation, understands theatre operations, theatre technologies, professional vocabulary (including international) and is able to use legal, economic, marketing, psychological and sociological knowledge in his/her professional practice. The graduate can take responsibility for his/her tasks and the tasks of the members of the creative team, can think, plan, manage, communicate and evaluate. During their studies, students gradually learn to apply the acquired knowledge and turn it into managerial skills. These are further developed through extensive project activities (theatre productions, festivals, events, interdisciplinary realisations, etc.

Project management is essential in the Bachelor’s degree – a theatre production is perceived as a project in the artistic programme of the theatre. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of project management and become competent in managing small and medium-sized project teams. Attention is paid to understanding the external environment of arts institutions, i.e. the principles of cultural policy, fundraising and the function of the arts and arts institutions in society or within the concept of cultural and creative industries.

Transfer of theoretical knowledge and knowledge through project-based teaching: monodramas, cloistered projects, Salon of Original Creation, production projects at Marta Studio and Orlí Theatre, ENCOUNTER International Festival of Theatre Schools, student film productions, JAMŮví Festival, Ateliér 205 magazine, street theatre and interventions in public space, etc.

The aim of the Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Production is to educate professionals for the artistic and operational units of theatres, artistic and cultural institutions and entities operating in the field of creative industries with a priority emphasis on the theatre network of the Czech Republic.
